Every year all of the finalist’s artworks are auctioned and all of the money raised goes towards a charitable trust who distribute the funds to community initiatives in each of the 18 phone book regions.

This year’s auction will be held in March 2010 at the Auckland Museum. Attendance is by invitation only. All finalists from the last two years will be invited to attend.

The national winner will win $20,000 and in each region the winner will receive $2,000, first runner up $1,000 and second runner up $500.

An independent judging panel will select the top three finalists from each region as well as the national winner.

The three finalists’ artwork from each region will be auctioned at the annual Yellow™ Art Awards auction.
